Frequently asked questions
Short answers. If something is missing, write to us (see the Privacy Policy for the contact).
What does the free plan include?
Up to 100 top-level comments per post, exported to CSV or XLSX. There is no time limit and no account.
Why does the free plan skip replies?
Replies are part of Pro. Free exports only the top-level comments, up to 100 per post. Pro loads whole threads, keeps the parent link of each reply, and has no limit per post.
Is my data sent anywhere?
Comments never leave your browser: they are read on the page, kept in that tab and saved to a file on your computer when you export. The only network requests are a license check (Pro) and, on the free plan, a plain request for the current offer that carries no identifiers. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Why are some comments missing from my file?
Instagram decides what it shows. Comments it hides or filters can be missing, and very large posts may stop early. The popup tells you why a scan stopped. Keep the Instagram tab in front while it scrolls.
Can Instagram restrict my account for using this?
Automated collection can be restricted by Instagram, and we cannot promise it will not happen. CommentCrate scrolls the page the way you would, but you use it at your own risk (see the Terms of Use).
How many devices can I use with one Pro license?
Three. You can free a slot any time from the extension (“Deactivate this device”). Reinstalling the extension counts as a new device until you do.
Does Pro need an internet connection?
Only to renew. The license is checked on your device and renewed about once a week; if you are offline, Pro keeps working for up to 14 days.
How do I cancel, and what about refunds?
You can cancel any time and you fall back to the Free plan; files you exported stay yours. Refund terms are set out at checkout by our payment provider. Pro is not on sale yet, so these terms are still a draft.
Which browsers and sites does it work with?
Chrome and other Chromium browsers (version 137 or newer) and, for now, Instagram posts and reels only. Other platforms are planned for Pro, without promised dates.
